GREEN LIVING WORKPLACE OFFICE AUDIT

A Green Living Workplace Office Audit aims to create healthier, happier workers through safer and better working conditions.

Simple and effective changes can ensure workers are more productive, take fewer days away due to illness and have peace of mind knowing their company is being proactive towards health and well being. Smaller offices with multiple workers in close proximity benefit greatly from this audit!

This audit begins with a visual inspection of the building, and tests general indoor air quality levels, pollutants (VOC, ultrafine particulate levels) electromagnetic field levels, and moisture content of building materials and furnishings if necessary. The Building Biologist will work with the office manager/ HR or employees to implement recommendations and action plan which then can be monitored and reviewed in 6 months for success.

MOULD DETECTION & MOISTURE INSPECTION

This inspection aims to identify potential hazards associated with excess moisture in building materials and furnishings.  A moisture meter is used where there is evidence of water intrusion, widespread mould growth, strong musty odours without visible growth, or if occupants are experiencing health problems related to mould exposure. Air and surface sampling is generally recommended to determine prevalence of fungi or the type (species) needs to be identified. INDOOR AIR QUALITY TESTING & SAMPLING

An IAQ assessment concentrates on identifying potential or existing sources of indoor air pollutants – such as temperature, humidity, dust, poor ventilation, ultrafine particulates, and volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), carbon monoxide / dioxide or exhaust fumes.

WATER QUALITY TESTING & FILTER RECOMMENDATIONS

What is really in your drinking water? We will visit homes, business and schools to conduct Water Quality Assessments of drinking and bathing water sources and water storage, which concentrates on identifying any potential contaminants that may arise from the pipes to storage vessels.

PRE- PURCHASE & PRE-LEASE INSPECTIONS

Before you commit to the major decision of renting or buying a home, land or office,  a pre-purchase/ lease inspection is recommended. Consisting of a general visual inspection of the building, and identifying any observable hazards and potential risks (including electromagnetic and radio frequency readings in main areas). A brief report is provided with findings and recommendations.
