Nestled in the heart of the King Valley. The Yurt Alpine Retreat is perfectly located for the weekend break or a leisurely mid-week holiday.
Visit us and share our beautiful property. The yurt is unique and comfortable and beautifully decorated in Mongolian style. You will find most things you need, crockery, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils, linen etc. you just need to bring your own food and clothes which makes a weekend glamping much easier . We charge $90 per night. The yurt accommodates two comfortably but it is divided by a curtain and could sleep another two people who don't mind being in close proximity. This is premium camping accommodation in the King Valley. Absolutely spectacular views that you won't find anywhere else and possibly one of the best views in Australia.
You will experience some of the best views in Australia. The yurt is situated in the Victorian High country on a 345 hectare working cattle and sheep farm, there are also some goats and alpacas and 20 acre vineyard adjoining natural bushland. It is approximately 200kms from Melbourne and the nearest towns are Benalla and Wangaratta which are 40kms away so you will need to buy your food there. There is a small general store 15mins drive away. pick up from Wangaratta and benalla railway stations can be arranged. Do bear in mind we live out in the sticks mate and there is the odd rogue ant etc.
You are only 20mins. drive to the King Valley wineries, you can also visit Milawa Cheese factory and Milawa Mustards.
